The SnapBait Blood Worm is a jig head with a soft plastic worm threaded onto the assist cord — and where you sit that worm changes how the whole lure fishes.
Leave the worm up on the assist cord and the long shank hook sits clear and exposed, ready to take a strip of bait — squid, prawn, worm or fish. The soft plastic stays above as the visual attractor while the bait does the scent work.
Same lure, two ways to fish it, switched in seconds without re-rigging. That's what makes it a hybrid, and it's why it works on days when whiting want one and refuse the other.
Why the long shank matters
King George and sand whiting have small mouths and pick at a bait rather than engulfing it. The long shank sits the hook point further back in the presentation, so light-biting whiting get hooked instead of stripping it — the usual problem with short-shank whiting jigs.
Which weight do I need?
Colour guide
Brown and Blue in clear shallow water. Yellow/Pink and Lumo Pink Splash when the water's stirred up or the light is low.
How to fish it
Slow hop across sand: lift the rod tip 30–40cm, let it settle, pause. Whiting almost always take it on the drop or during the pause, so resist winding through. Over sand flats on a rising tide, cast ahead of the drift and work it back at walking pace. Best sessions are the first two hours of the run-in and the last of the run-out.
Target species
Primary: King George whiting, sand whiting, silver whiting, flathead
Also takes: bream, tailor, herring, inshore pinkies and estuary species
Common questions
What's the best lure for King George whiting?
A small long-shank worm jig in 15–20g fished slowly over sand. KG whiting have small mouths and pick at a bait, so hook exposure matters more than size or flash.
Why a long shank hook?
It sits the hook point further back in the presentation and increases hook exposure, which converts the subtle bites whiting are known for into solid hook-ups.
Will it catch flathead too?
Yes — flathead sit on the same sand flats and take a worm jig on the drop. Go up to 20–30g if you're specifically chasing them in deeper water.
Can you replace the worm?
Yes — replacement Flash & Blood Worm assists are sold separately, so a jig head gets re-rigged rather than replaced.

Awesome jigs hands down the best in the Buisiness only default I’ve noticed with the smaller 60g jigs is the squid on the assists slides over the glow ball after a few fish and tangles up the assists other then that top notch gear
Good service recently had a minor problem with the delivery, but was called directly and sorted immediately.
Really good baits
Fishing with the kids made super easy. Just tie it on add a little bait and the kid are off and racing. The boys were smashing flathead and bream and picked up a couple of whiting as well just Bouncing them around on the bottom.
What a great fishing jig I don’t know what to say about it but it is a great jig for big fish
